Nigerian Pilgrims Stranded in Saudi Arabia, Lack Accommodation Despite N8million Hajj Fee

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, numerous Nigerian pilgrims were seen sleeping on the floor under a canopy in Saudi Arabia, wearing their religious garments. These pilgrims, hailing from Katsina State, accused their State Board of neglect, leaving them without accommodation.
One pilgrim, Usman Bello Daura, expressed his frustration, highlighting the inadequate welfare despite having paid over N8million for the Hajj exercise. He emphasized the critical nature of their situation, especially with the approaching day of Arafat, the most significant day of Hajj.
Another pilgrim compared their plight to the better-treated pilgrims from Borno State, who had proper accommodations arranged by their authorities. The Katsina pilgrims called for immediate intervention from their state government, urging careful consideration in future pilgrim management.
Separately, SaharaReporters reported the deaths of two more pilgrims from Kwara State due to brief illnesses. The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.
